Good Afternoon,
We’re back, and it’s wonderful! I hope all of you enjoyed a Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year filled with special moments together. There is something truly beautiful about the memories made simply by being with family. We loved welcoming our students back this week, and we are excited for what promises to be our best year yet at Saint Andrew.

Confirmation

Please keep our 8th graders in your prayers.  They will be confirmed on Wednesday, January 14.  We are so proud of them!

Super School Sunday – January 25

Super School Sunday is the official kickoff to Catholic Schools Week, and we are excited to celebrate with our community. We will begin with Mass at 9am, followed by a pancake breakfast in the gym. School tours for prospective families and an open house for current families will both begin at 10:30. Be sure to order your pancake breakfast tickets today, and don’t forget to invite your friends and neighbors to join us for Mass, breakfast, and a tour. We love sharing the Saint Andrew community!

iReady Testing

We will begin our winter benchmarking in math, and reading will begin the morning of Wednesday, January 14. Testing takes place in the mornings and should conclude the following week. iReady testing helps us measure each student’s growth in reading and math, and the benchmark results guide teachers in setting goals, providing targeted instruction, and tracking progress throughout the year.

Adoration

Students in grades 3-8 will attend Adoration on Wednesday at 8:30. There will be no school mass.

Day off Basketball Camp

Don’t forget! There are no classes on Friday, February 6. This is a professional development day for teachers. Saint Andrew will host a basketball camp for grades K-8 on this day from 8:30am-2:30pm. Register here

Faces Project

We are excited to bring back the Faces project this year. This project includes a photograph of each student and their siblings, made available for parents to purchase at Wearin' the Green. Photographs will be taken on Thursday and Friday next week. Please send your children in their regular school uniform.  Should you wish to opt out of having your child photographed, please drop me an email.

Saint Andrew Early Learners- Preschool Preparatory Class

Give your little one a gentle, confident start to school with our Saint Andrew Early Learners program! This warm and welcoming class, led by the beloved Mrs. Loomos, meets on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:00–9:30am, January 20–March 13. Children (age 2 by September 1) explore fun weekly themes: winter, Groundhog Day, colors, shapes, and more, while parents/caregivers stay to connect and learn alongside them. More information and registration can be found here: SA Early Learners

READBowl 2026

Saint Andrew School is excited to participate in READBowl 2026, a free global reading competition designed to inspire students to read more. Over the next four weeks, students will track their reading time both at home and at school, with each grade submitting weekly totals. We will host a friendly school-wide competition while also entering our grade-level minutes into the national READBowl challenge. Weekly class winners will be announced nationwide, with an overall READBowl Champion named on Super Bowl Sunday. Fun incentives will be offered throughout the challenge. Reading logs will be sent home on Monday. Please be on the lookout for them.

Save the Date

Book your sitter!  The parish’s largest party, Wearin’ the Green, is Saturday, March 7. Early bird tickets are on sale now.

Family Mass

Family Mass is Sunday at 9am. Mass builds a sense of belonging. Children see that they are part of something bigger than their own household,  a parish, a Church, a school, and a community. Going to Mass as a family helps develop a deeper understanding of love, service, and responsibility.

Celebrating Sunday

Here is a great conversation starter on your way to or from Mass: Celebrating Sunday.  Thank you, Mr. Heimann.
