When launching a empty brand new scene in Maya whilst following the tutorials
on the Youtube channel I get met with this error, when just clicking on the
first checker button to check the scene, and the checker does not load, any
assistance would be appreciated

Hi,

It seems one of the panels you have in Maya is returning a strange value when we ask for its parent

Do you have any particular panel open? Like a hydra viewer, a plugin UI or something like that?

Anyway, we should bulletproof our code. I tried a modification in the glmCrowdCheckers.mel

Can you

• Close Maya
  
• Download attached file
• Copy it to  C:/Golaem/Golaem-8.2.6-Maya2023/scripts/ (overwriting existing file)
• Open Maya again (this is very important to start a fresh Maya)
• Try again
