Holle, guys.
I'm making a (WITHOUT UVPIN) cluster about a character going from running to climbing a wall, having some trouble hopefully I can get some help and guidance.
figure 1 is the action cache that I output after I create the behavior after climbing the wall.1.cache.png

I don't see any problem when I output it, but when I enable the layout editing.
2.layout settings.png

the character on the wall inexplicably flies to the underground, what's the problem?
3.character mismatch.png

Please help me to solve this problem, if it can't be solved, I won't be able to continue to use the Layout Setup function for production, thanks!

Hey there,

If you have a Terrain Node in your simulation, it'll be converted as a Terrain Geometry File at the Layout stage and Entities will be snapped back on the terrain geometry
In the Cache Proxy node you can disable Terrain Adaptation in the Adaptation Mode and set it to No Adaptation. You need to save the Layout File when you change the mode for it to apply properly

Notice that, when using 3d navigation entities (entities for which the up vector is not aligned with Maya Y), the Layout Tool will not be able to snap Entities to terrain anymore as it considers Y up

You mention production, can you please mention which company you're working for ?

Let us know how it goes

HI  Nicolas
Thank you very much for your help and answers. The problem has been basically solved, but I feel that this operation mode is not very stable. Maybe it is my operate problem. Following your method, according to your method, I changed the terrain adaptive mode in the cache node to the non adaptive mode. When the layout is enabled again in cache, the character no longer flies underground. After saving and opening the file again, I found that the character flies to the underground again, Then I repeated taking the previously saved cache file and doing it again before saving it, and then starting the file again would be great! I really don't understand what the problem is.
Another question is how to avoid the character Penetrate into the wall when simulating the behavior of climbing the wall (WITHOUT UVPIN) Sometimes the character will pass through the wall and slowly return to the track outside the wall.
As for the word 'production' mentioned in the previous question, it may be due to my improper use of the word. What I mean is that cannot continue to adjust the layout. In fact, I am just personal hobby Learning and researching on my own. I apologize for the misunderstanding caused by my poor English proficiency!

I'm not sure to understand the process, can you illustrate exactly what you're doing ? Maybe send a screen record or screenshots of the various steps and results

Hard to tell without seeing an example
Any chance you could share some screenshots as well ?

Best,

HI Nicolas
I reorganized my questions according to your request

Question 1

When a character switches from running on flat ground to climbing on a wall, it is not possible to maintain a smooth transition to the wall at the corner. Sometimes the character will pass through the wall and slowly return to the track outside the wall. Even if I use AdaptGround, this problem still occurs

Question 1_corner.png       Question 1-2_corner.png

Question 2
The character always likes to run towards the edge of the wall when climbing up through curve navigation, and does not fully follow the curve navigation to climb along the center of the wall. The heap up is within the edge range, which is very frustrating and difficult to understand

Question 2_These characters like to lean aside walk.png

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you
