Be a part of choosing the book for the 2016 One Read program. Just ahead, voting will be opened to the public to choose between two finalist titles for One Read 2016. The reading panel is hard at work, making their way through this year’s nominated titles to select two, which will be presented to the public for vote. Votes can be submitted at oneread.org or any library branch or on the bookmobile beginning April 11.
The deadline for the City’s Annual Arts Funding Process is approaching. Applicants must submit all required information in accordance with instructions using the online application system by May 2, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. to be considered for FY17 funding. Small Request funds for FY16 have been depleted. However, new funds are expected to be available after the city budget for FY17 has been approved by city council. Proposed events/activities must take place after October 1, and preferably after October 10 when the Commission will consider applications received by the due date. Small Request applications for FY17 must be submitted to the OCA no later than two months prior to the project’s start date (i.e., if your project begins on October 13, your application must be received by August 13).
