Unified Development Code Revision - Public Comment Session

Good Morning:

The Planning and Zoning Commission will be receiving public comments regarding a proposed change to Section 29-5.1(b) of the Unified Development Code as part of its regularly scheduled meeting on March 8, 2018.  The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Council Chambers of Columbia City Hall and this item will be heard at the end of regularly schedule business.  

The proposed amendment (attached) is being considered to address an identified conflict between Section 29-1.6 and 29-5.1(b) of the Unified Development Code as it relates to limitations on development within floodplain/flood fringe areas and the Floodplain Overlay District (FP-O).  Additionally, the amendment proposes to add clarity regarding what must appear on a Land Sensitivity Analysis Map and offers incentives should preservation of floodplain/flood fringe areas occur on a voluntary basis.  

You are invited to attend this meeting and offer your comments on the proposed amendment. If you are unable to attend, but desire to offer comments for consideration please reply to this e-mail.
