Next Round of West Central Columbia Neighborhood Plan Meetings Announced

(Columbia, MO) - Residents, neighbors, and other other interested parties are hard at work on a neighborhood plan for the West Central Area of Columbia, roughly bounded by Broadway on the south, McBaine and Sexton on the east, Business Loop 70 on the north, and Stadium on the west. A second round of meetings has been scheduled to share the results of the first West Central Columbia Neighborhood Plan input survey, and to discuss and prioritize neighborhood needs and “big ideas”.

Neighbors are encouraged to attend whichever meeting is most convenient for them:

Meeting 1

Thursday, February 26, at the Activity and Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Meeting 2

Saturday, February 28, at the Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services Department, 1005 W. Worley St., from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Meeting rooms and staff will be available 15 minutes prior to the start time to look over new maps, survey results, and to take questions. An organized program will begin at the listed start time, including a brief presentation and followed by small group exercises and listening sessions. The program will conclude with voting on neighborhood priorities.

For those unable to attend either meeting, input can be provided directly to city planners by calling 573.874.7682 or by completing the survey available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WCBigIdeas. For more information, please go to www.gocolumbiamo.com and search “neighborhood planning”.
