Neighborhood Congress to be Held September 10

Event Sponsors: City of Columbia Community Development Department and the Office of Neighborhood Services
The focus o
f this fall's event will be a discussion of the Neighborhood Planning Process that Community Development is rolling out. This process invites people to come together for the purpose of developing a shared vision for their neighborhood. The focus of the neighborhood plans will be on land use within neighborhoods as suggested by the Columbia Imagined Comprehensive Plan. In addition, participants will hear about the Office of Neighborhood Services' partnership with the Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods Action Team and our work toward promoting social connections within neighborhoods and neighborhood safety. The COMO Connect Information Bus will also be on hand to help educate participants on Columbia's completely revamped transit system.Prior to the Congress, from 5-6 p.m., City departments will be available to provide information on city services, and several Council members will be on hand to conduct constituent "office hours".
