Annual Arts Organization Funding

City Council authorized contracts with the 21 local arts agencies that will receive funding through the OCA’s annual process.We will be sending the contracts by the end of October, along with instructions for completing narrative and budget revisions. Small Request Arts Funding   

Small Request applications are being accepted on a rolling deadline. Proposals must follow the guidelines listed below. Proposed projects should be innovative, unique and represent a one-time opportunity for the community. ·         Funding is limited to one request per project. Multiple projects from the same agency are allowed.

·         Funds are available to agencies with total annual budgets of no more than $500,000 and only to arts agencies. Collaborations are allowed, but only with an arts organization holding a 501c3 status as the lead agency.

·         OCA does not fund capital outlay or perishable items.

·        Only arts organizations with 501(c)(3) status may apply; if you do not have a 501(c)(3) you may collaborate with an organization that does.

Save the Date! Missouri Arts Council Grant Writing Workshop

The Missouri Arts Council (MAC) is presenting a free grant application workshop that covers basic information on MAC grants, both monthly and annual, including eligibility information, creating an online profile, the application and panel process, preparing support materials and how to address narrative questions. If you have never applied for MAC funding, or seek to improve your grant application, you will benefit from attending this workshop. Note that MAC grants are available only to organizations, not individuals.

Discover public art with a new mobile app!

Columbia’s collection of public art can now be experienced on your mobile device. Use the free mobile app to guide you on a tour of over 35 pieces of public art around town. Each stop on the tour includes photos, written and audio descriptions, and geo-location mapping to guide you along the way. Each artwork in the tour has its own connection to Columbia’s history and is part of the city’s cultural legacy. The works were initiated by a range of businesses, individuals, and organizations, each with a different mission but all sharing the common view that art enriches the city.  Powered by Otocast, the app is currently available for download in the iTunes store; search "Otocast."
