The Commission on Cultural Affairs will not meet in December

Regularly monthly meetings of the Commission will resume on January 11, 4:15 p.m. in the community room of the Walton Building, 300 S. Providence Road. Commission meetings are always open to the public.

 

Annual City Arts Funding

Paperwork for fiscal year 2016 (signed contracts, revised narratives and budgets, as well as responses to stipulations) are due back to the OCA on or before December 15 and must be received before payment can be made.  Applications for the city’s fiscal year 2017 arts funding will be available beginning February 1. OCA is working with Foundant Technologies to create an online application form and evaluation process.

 

Small Request Funding

Small Request applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis and are open to non-profit arts organizations that meet the eligibility requirements. The maximum amount of funding per project is $750. Applications must be turned in to the OCA no later than two months prior to the project’s start date; i.e. if your project begins on February 15 your application must be received by December 15. Public invited to comment on finalists’ designs in City Flag Design Contest

Review the designs of top three finalists and leave a comment on your favorite. Click here for more information. Voting input will be accepted through January 14, 2016.

 

CoMoGives

This campaign, coordinated by the Community Foundation of Central Missouri, will be collecting donations on behalf of 71 Columbia area nonprofits through December 31. One of the participating organizations is the Columbia Arts Fund, an endowment fund created by the City of Columbia to provide resources to organizations that foster practice, education, accessibility, and appreciation of the arts. Columbia Values Diversity Celebration

The 2016 Columbia Values Diversity Celebration will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016, from 7:00-8:45am. OCA organizes the event, an annual celebration of the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., which features a community breakfast and music as well as the presentation of the Columbia Values Diversity Awards.  Click here for registration information.
