The Commission on Cultural Affairs will meet on Monday, August 10, 2015, at 
4:15 p.m. in the community room of the Walton Building, 300 S. Providence Road.

Arts and Culture Organizational Meeting
The OCA will host an Arts and Culture organizational meeting on Wednesday, August 19th, at 5 p.m. in the community room at the Walton Building, 300 S. Providence.  Representatives from arts and culture organizations are encouraged to attend for informal networking and also to hear about an upcoming opportunity from Americans for the Arts.  AFTA is conducting a nationwide audience/patron survey to determine economic impact of the arts. Annual Arts Funding Process Update

The Commission’s work on our annual arts funding process will be presented to City Council for their consideration on Monday, August 17 as part of a public hearing on the city’s upcoming budget. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and is in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. The presentation will include an opportunity for public comment. Applicants are not required to attend but may do so, as it is an open meeting. Final approval of the funding recommendations will not occur until late September. If council approves the funding recommendations, contracts will be authorized after October 1 and then sent to funded agencies.

   

Small Request Funding  

Small Request funds for FY15 have been depleted. However, new funds will be available after the city budget for FY16 is approved by city council. Proposed events/activities must take place after October 1, and preferably after October 12 when the Commission will consider applications received by the due date. Small Request applications for FY16 must be submitted to the OCA no later than two months prior to the project’s start date (i.e., if your project begins on October 12, your application must be received by August 12).
