OFFICE OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS UPDATES:

City Arts Funding Information:

City arts funding for the FY2018 cycle will be completed online using Foundant Technologies. As always, the applicant must submit all required information in accordance with instructions using the online application system. Applications will be available beginning February 1, and must be received by May 1, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. to be considered for FY2018 funding. New applicants or those that have been zero-funded in the past are strongly encouraged to submit a draft for review.

Artist Opportunities

·   Traffic Box Art:  Open to artists residing in mid-Missouri; $1,500 honorarium, plus cost of materials; postmark or online submission deadline March 1. The prospectus and design template will be available soon.

·   Commemorative Poster:  Each year since 1992, the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs has produced an annual Commemorative Poster. The poster communicates the vitality and beauty of mid-Missouri, and specifically the City of Columbia, as well as the significance of the arts. One image will be selected for the Commemorative Poster design, which will also be featured on the cover of next year’s annual “City of Columbia Citizens’ Handbook”. The artist selected will receive a $1,500 honorarium. Additional images, approximately 7-15, will be chosen as honorable mentions, and will also be included in the “City of Columbia Citizens’ Handbook”; the artists will receive a $100 honorarium per image selected. Previous winners of the Commemorative Poster are not eligible for poster design consideration until three years after winning. However, all entries are considered for the honorable mention category. Application will be available starting January 27, 2017. Postmark or online submission deadline is March 24, 2017. Visit www.CoMo.gov/arts for guidelines and application form.
