If you have closely watched our public globus-sdk-python repo, or our PyPI releases, you may have noticed pre-release builds of Globus Python SDK v4.

SDK v4 focuses on numerous fixes which resolve long-standing issues that require backwards-incompatible changes to address.

To make the transition easier, we have written a thorough migration guide which covers the changes:
  https://globus-sdk-python.readthedocs.io/en/4.x-dev/upgrading.html

We are inviting authors who use the Python SDK in their scripts and applications to try our beta releases. Python package managers and pip can install the latest beta using the version specifier globus-sdk==4.0.0b2.

We plan to release version 4.0.0 on Wednesday, October 8th unless surprising issues or feedback surface. This is a good time to test and tell our team about any challenges you have updating to the new version. Even simple feedback telling us that you tried it out and it was hard or easy to update is useful. If you don't plan to upgrade right away, please make sure that any automated installations of globus-sdk specify a version or bound their version range with globus_sdk<4.

Thanks,
-Stephen
