With GCS, if I, as an administrator, create a managed collection that is set as Private, what does that affect? I know that the collection will not appear in a Search, but can other people in my organization access it if they know the name/UUID of the collection? If not, is there a way I can explicitly allow that? I've had trouble finding much in the documentation about this.

Thanks,
Ken

If I remember correctly, the only way someone is able to do anything with a Private collection is if they have a Role on that collection.  Since the least-privileged role is Activity Monitor, that means everyone who wants to use the collection will at least need to have the Activity Monitor role on that collection (either directly or via a Globus Group).  Of course, that’s in addition to everything else that normally applies (like, for POSIX collection, being able to map to a local account).
