If you do not administer any flows that interact with the Transfer service and if you do not use the Globus-provided flows, no action should be required on your part.
User-defined flows that use the legacy Transfer action providers will need to be updated to make use of the new action providers. The legacy Transfer action providers, which all start with
https://actions.globus.org/transfer/, have been deprecated since February 20, 2024. A
migration guide is available to help with this process.
Globus-provided flows that make use of the new action providers are available starting today:
The prior versions of these flows have “(Deprecated)” added to their names and will be removed on 11/13/2024.
We will automatically migrate legacy Transfer timers to use the new Transfer action providers on 10/29/2024. This should not require any manual intervention on your part. Please note that as part of this change, it will no longer be possible to create or manage timers using the Timer CLI tool, which was superseded by the
Globus CLI on September 1, 2023.
Discontinuation of the legacy action providers will happen in stages:
Today: New Globus-provided flows available
10/29/2024: Legacy timers automatically converted
11/13/2024: Flows no longer allows the legacy APs during flow creation or update
11/13/2024: Legacy Globus-provided flows removed
01/08/2025: Flows no longer starts runs that use the legacy action providers
01/22/2025: Legacy action providers removed; flow runs still in progress may fail
If you have questions about how to update your flows to use these new action providers or need assistance, please reach out via
