Hi folks,

Is it possible to change which storage-gateway a collection is attached to?

I have a couple of long standing managed collections that I've recently changed the underlying storage for. The new storage has QoS limits set on it, which appears to be causing timeout errors and checksum verification errors on transfers. My guess is these errors are caused by the latency introduced by the QoS rules (which is intentional).

I'd like to reduce the concurrency/parallelism on those collections, but not on my other collections under the same storage-gateways.

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken.

That is a great question. Collections are tied to the storage gateways and cannot be "moved". You can manipulate network use (concurrency, parallelism, etc) at the endpoint wide:
...or storage gateway level:

Unfortunately, if you wish to move a collection you would actually have to recreate the collection on a new storage gateway. There may be some other finer points for your case and Globus is more than happy to get into a deeper discussion. If you do, you are welcome to reach out to us and create a support ticket (https://www.globus.org/contact-us) and we will be happy to help more.

Thanks,
Robert
