We released an update to Globus Connect Personal, the Globus Web app, and Globus Auth this morning.

Of particular note is the release of a streamlined process for Globus Connect Personal that further simplifies enabling laptops and desktops to join the Globus data ecosystem. With this update, once the user downloads the application, the setup process guides the user through the creation of a new Globus Connect Personal collection.  The user no longer needs a set up key; they simply log into Globus, name their collection, and they are ready to use Globus services. 

The setup key method is still available for automatic and programmatic deployments of Globus Connect Personal.

• Users can now create a Globus Connect Personal collection directly from the Globus Connect Personal app’s setup process.

Globus Web app

• Updated Globus Connect Personal install page for new installation method.

Globus Auth

• A last authentication timestamp is added to the /userinfo endpoint and the ID token;

• The view_identity_set scope is not required to retrieve the identity set information;

• The introspect endpoint now provides identity set information when the identity_set_detail flag is supplied.
