Hello UCSB Global Studies Advising Team,

I’m reaching out on behalf of WATA (Water Access to All), a humanitarian nonprofit that provides clean water solutions to underserved communities around the world—including Guatemala, Vietnam, and Myanmar. We install household and school-based water filters, distribute essential supplies, and engage in broader community support initiatives such as teaching, cleanup projects, and youth enrichment.

We’re currently offering a summer internship opportunity for students interested in nonprofit communications, fundraising, and global impact. This is a great role for students passionate about storytelling, social media, marketing, or international development.

Internship Overview – Fundraising & Marketing Interns

Interns will:

  • Assist with developing and managing WATA’s social media strategy

  • Help create and share stories about our impact and the communities we serve

  • Participate in fundraising campaigns and event planning

  • Research grants and funding opportunities to support clean water access

  • Gain insight into nonprofit development and international aid

We’re looking for students who are passionate about:

  • Nonprofit communications and storytelling

  • Clean water access, health equity, and global development

  • Using marketing to create positive change in the world

  • Creative social media strategy or behind-the-scenes research work

Important Details:

  • No prior experience required – full training and mentorship provided

  • Internship is unpaid, but students may be eligible for academic credit (please consult your school advisor)

  • Remote and flexible – can be done from anywhere, on your own schedule

  • Time Commitment: ~5 hours per week for ~10 weeks (can be extended into fall if interested)

How to Apply:

Please email your resume and a few sentences about your interest in the internship and your availability to Austin at imp...@cleanwata.org. No cover letter required.
