Two-year experiential professional development opportunity for American scientists and engineers to work at USAID and apply their expertise and research skills to inform the U.S. government’s international development activities and support their success. Deadline: November 4, 2024. Apply here
New this week! Make Room Mentorship Program
The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) is now accepting applications for the Spring 2025 cohort of the Make Room Mentorship Program. This program seeks young professionals, students, and recent graduates with less than five years of relevant work experience (excluding military service) who are interested in learning about and working in the national security and foreign policy space. New this week! Department of Treasury’s Office of International Affairs Junior Fellowship
The Junior Fellowship program is a highly selective, fixed two-year program for new college graduates to work shaping international economic policy for the United States in the Treasury's Office of International Affairs. New this week! Japan Education Training (JET) Program
The JET Program allows young professionals to live and work throughout Japan. Most participants serve as Assistant Language Teachers and work in public and private schools throughout Japan; some work as Coordinators for International Relations as interpreters/translators. Open to nationals of many countries. Japanese not required. Deadline: November 15, 2024. Apply here
Deadline postponed to September 29! The Shawn Brimley Next Generation National Security Leaders FellowshipÂ
Year-long, part-time professional development fellowship that aims to bring together young professionals across sectors within the national security field to learn best practices and lessons in leadership. NextGen fellows will have the opportunity to engage with thought leaders on leadership principles and national security through various engagements, including a monthly dinner series. Deadline coming up! Luce Scholars Program
The Luce Scholars Program is a nationally competitive fellowship that aims to forge stronger relationships across geographic borders by creating opportunities for young Americans to deepen their ties and understanding of the countries, cultures, and people of Asia. Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents; be graduating seniors or recent graduates no more than three years out from receiving bachelor’s degree. SID-US Career FairÂ
SID-United States will be hosting a virtual Career Fair to connect job seekers of all levels with international development organizations representing a wide range of sectors, including NGOs, government agencies, the private sector, small businesses, and more. Date: October 10, 2024. Register here
Storyfest 2025
Planet Forward is hosting Storyfest 2025, a student storytelling competition focused on environmental issues and solutions. Winners in eight categories will be awarded a 10-day trip to the Galápagos Islands from July 18 to 27, 2025. The competition is open to college students. Deadline: June 1, 2024-February 10, 2025. Call for Undergrad Teams: Global Innovation Challenge on November 1, 2024.
William & Mary's Global Innovation Challenge (WMGIC) is partnering with NATO to present an international countering disinformation case competition. The event is open to undergraduates at institutions in NATO member states and partner nations. All teams receive mentoring from a professional. The winning team from each of the streams will receive $500 USD. Deadline: October 25, 2024. Apply here
Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals
The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX) is a fellowship which annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals between the ages of 18½–24 the opportunity to spend one year in each other’s countries studying, interning, and living with hosts. Prior German language knowledge is not required. US or German citizenship required. Deadline: November 1, 2024. Apply here
Princeton in Asia Fellowship
Princeton in Asia fosters mutual appreciation and cross-cultural understanding between the United States and Asia through immersive work fellowships in host organizations and communities. Applicants are college seniors or recent college graduates from any college or university. While PiA does not restrict eligibility based on US citizenship or residency status, all candidates must present a compelling rationale for how they will contribute to PiA’s mission of United States-Asia exchange. Flagship Scholarship. The Point Foundation Flagship Scholarship empowers LGBTQ students who are earning their undergraduate, graduate, & doctoral degrees at accredited colleges in the United States by offering financial support, community resources, and professional development. Public Policy & International Affairs Program (PPIA) Fellowship. The PPIA Fellowship grants future public policy leaders access to the Junior Summer Institute. The fellowship is a fully funded and rigorous graduate school preparation program, and lifetime participation in PPIA's Alumni Network and annual Public Service Expo. Deadline: November 1, 2024. Spring 2025 Paid Internship with the Heritage Foundation
The Heritage Foundation will hire 50+ interns for Spring 2025 to work alongside staff in DC. Interns serve from early January 2025 to mid-April 2025, full or part time. All interns are paid $15/hour. Applicants will preferably be a college junior or above (including recent grads) by credit hours, but students with fewer credit hours are welcome to apply. International students who are authorized to be employed in the US are eligible. Hiring is on a rolling basis. Apply here

Fulbright creates connections in a complex and changing world. The USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program seeks to attract outstanding individuals who are interested in pursuing careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Payne Fellowship, which provides up to $104,000 in benefits over two years for graduate school, internships, and professional development activities, is a unique pathway to the USAID Foreign Service. SOCAP Conference October 28-30 - Opportunity for Students to Volunteer
Unlike any other conference in impact, the SOCAP conference has been the flagship event and leading convener in the impact economy, gathering more than 100,000 people since the first event. Call for Participants: USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka
Sister Cities International is recruiting US citizens ages 19-27 to serve as guides and cultural ambassadors at the USA Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.For more than 160 years, Expos (also known as Worlds' Fairs) have helped humanity make sense of change and navigate through difficult times by promoting education, innovation, and cooperation. The World Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai will open April 13, 2025 and close October 13, 2025. Judy Schneider Fellowship
Women in Government Relations is accepting applications for the Judy Schneider Fellowship. The Fellowship supports candidates with no more than three years of professional work experience and an interest and/or experience in the government relations profession. This year-round program is aimed at creating the next generation of talent, ethical, savvy, and passionate advocates. Fellows must reside in the DC metropolitan area (DC, VA, or MD). International Affairs Junior Fellowship
The US Department of Treasury Junior Fellowship program is a fixed two-year program for new college graduates to work shaping international economic policy in the US Treasury's Office of International Affairs. Junior Fellows have exposure to multiple policy issues and opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills. Junior fellows will be placed in either a regional or functional office. US Citizens. Junior Fellows are usually hired at the GS-9 level and receive standard Treasury benefits. Strong candidates will have recently received – or will soon receive – a bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in economics, public policy, finance, international relations, or related fields. Award from Women in International Trade
Women in International Trade awards $1,500 prizes to support women studying all aspects of International Trade, including global business, supply chains, economic development, women’s economic empowerment, trade policy, and more. Applicants must identify as female and be Juniors or Seniors currently enrolled at an accredited US university or college, either full-time or part-time.
