Dear Advisers, Counselors, and Peers,
Hello. My name is Jay Stemmle, and I am a student academic specialist at UCSB's Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS). I am contacting you, perhaps once again, to inform you about CLAS’s academic skills services and to provide you with the attached flier about these services that you can distribute to the students whom you advise.
In summer 2025, UCSB undergraduates can attend any or all of ten different workshops on the following academic skills subjects:
· time management
· study planning
· learning from lecture
· reading efficiency
· test readiness
· confronting confusion
· focus
· fighting procrastination
· motivation
· intellectual confidence and humility.
In addition, CLAS academic skills specialists have appointment times available most weekdays to work with your students one-on-one on any of these topics.
Students can save their spots in workshops or can schedule appointments for individual consultations by going to myclas.sa.ucsb.edu, clicking "my appointments" or “my workshops,” and then clicking "academic skills." Students can attend unlimited workshops and can schedule up to two, thirty-minute in-person or Zoom appointments each week.
If you have any questions, concerns, complaints, or ideas about this CLAS service or about any other CLAS offering, please be in touch.
Best,
Jay (they/she)
