Studying abroad? Working more hours? Heading home for summer? Here's the scoop on how CalFresh works during your summer adventures:
šĀ Studying Abroad?

YouĀ donāt need to cancelĀ your CalFresh benefits

YouĀ canāt use them abroad, but theyāll still be active
-
YouĀ must completeĀ any SAR-7 or recertification due while abroad ā interviewsĀ cannot be waived

ā ļø You might not be able to access the benefitscal site abroad due to geo-blocking ā plan ahead!
š¼Ā Working Over Summer?

If you're working more hours or earning above the income threshold, you might:
⤠Receive reduced benefits
⤠Become ineligible for CalFresh

YouĀ must reportĀ income or job changes to the countyĀ within 10 days
-
If your CalFresh eligibility is based onĀ work-study, youāll need to meet aĀ different exemptionĀ over summer to stay eligible

You can alwaysĀ re-apply in the fallĀ if you're no longer eligible during summer!

Miramar Pantry Hours
š„š Need groceries? The Miramar Pantry is here to help! š„¦š
Located in the Sierra Madre Villages court behind the administrative office, you can stop by anytime during open hours to pick up fresh food and pantry staples. They even have refrigerators for perishables!
Don't forget to bring your own reusable bagsā the Miramar Pantry doesn't provide them.
