Wildlands Studies offers international environmental field programs where students gain hands-on field experience while earning upper-division academic credit. Students study topics such as ecology, conservation biology, climate change, environmental policy, geology, and human–environment relationships, all while working alongside PhD scientists and professional researchers in the field.
Programs take place in Australia, Belize, Chile, Ecuador, French Polynesia, Iceland, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, New Zealand, Thailand, Alaska, and Yellowstone, and bring together students from universities across North America. Participants can earn up to 15 upper-division credits through Western Washington University, and scholarships may apply.
