Please join the UCSB Middle East Ensemble as we present our formal Spring concert in UCSB’s Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall, on Sat., May 30th.  The concert will begin at 7:30 pm.

The UCSB Middle East Ensemble presents…

 UCSB’s Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall.  

 

Music and Dance from Armenia, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Morocco, and Lebanon

         

Scott Marcus, Founder & Director

Ziyad Marcus and Nan Rudnicki, Directors of Percussion

Alexandra King, Director of Dance 

We are pleased to feature:

 - a set of Armenian music, led by graduating senior Eric Mesropian.

 - a set of Moroccan music, led by Dr. Andrea Fishman.  

 - a set of Egyptian music, including two instrumental compositions by the renowned singer/composer, Muhammad ‘Abd al-Wahhab (1902 – 1991).

 - a special solo dance by Genavieve.

 

 As always, the Ensemble’s Dance Company will perform a wonderful variety of dances, from Egypt, Greece, Iran, and Lebanon.
