Dear students, 

You may have heard that the Computer Science dept. at UCSB is launching a new AI major...

We anticipate the AI change of major requirements will be published by Fall 2028, and we plan to begin accepting change of major applications in the '28-'29  academic year for students who meet the following criteria: 

• Admitted as a freshman to UCSB
• Never been on academic review
• Have completed at least 30 UC units
• Have completed no more than 6 regular quarters (Fall/Winter/Spring) at UCSB. Students who take a break from UCSB and complete courses at another institution will have those terms counted towards their completed quarters. 

We understand there is a strong interest in this new major. Please note that you must meet all AI change of major criteria (from what is listed here and what will be posted on CS website in the future) to remain eligible.
