Are you interested in fighting abuses of human rights? Join the Amnesty International USA Student Group at UCSB (AIUCSB) to help liberate oppressed individuals and firsthand witness change unfold!
Amnesty International is a non-profit, international organization that is independent of any political party, religion, or economic interest. Amnesty’s vision is of a world in which all people enjoy the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To help actualize Amnesty's vision, our group undertakes research and action focused on ending abuses of these rights. During our chapter meetings, we look at freedom of expression, refugee and migrant rights, racial justice, and many more priority issues. We research case studies together, send petition letters to government officials around the world, and participate in annual Amnesty events such as Write for Rights.
