Moot Court at UCSB
On behalf of Moot Court at UCSB, we invite you to participate as a volunteer judge for our upcoming high school Moot Court tournament in partnership with the National Association of Moot Court. The event will take place on February 28 – March 1, 2026 on the UC Santa Barbara campus.
Moot Court is an extracurricular activity in which students simulate arguments before the Supreme Court on a set of constitutional issues. Volunteer judges question the students before them on their arguments, evaluate their performances, and provide feedback to help them improve their oral advocacy skills. Having undergraduate students judge these competitors is critical to their understanding of the law and the skills they need to succeed in a legal career.
We would be honored to have you volunteer for one or more rounds at our tournament. We will be having judge orientations for volunteers to learn about the arguments beforehand, and there are additional resources available ahead of time to prepare. Each round lasts just 45 minutes, and complimentary lunch will be provided to judges on both days. We encourage anyone interested in thoughtful discussions to attend, particularly if you are planning to try out for Moot Court in the spring! If you are available to judge, please fill out this form at your earliest convenience.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at con...@ucsbmootcourt.org.
Best,
Moot Court at UCSB
