The John Quincy Adams Society

Dear friends, scholars, counselors, and staff:

I write to invite your students to apply to the John Quincy Adams Society's 2026 Summer Conference in the Washington, D.C. area. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in careers in U.S. foreign and defense policy to dig into grand strategy, connect with professionals and peers, and hear from top experts about current foreign policy issues. We also plan at least one expert-facilitated crisis simulation or wargame. We are able to provide travel and lodging for our attendees.

You may learn more about the program here. One element I can share that hasn't hit the web yet is that our keynote will be from Dr. Kelly A. Grieco of the Stimson Center. You will have seen her all over the press in recent weeks given her expertise on U.S. military strategy, force structure, and more; her keynote will examine the war with Iran and its deeper consequences and implications. (She was a real hit with attendees at last year's conference.) We will be announcing additional speakers soon.

We would be grateful if you would share this message with students who may be interested in this opportunity.

With best wishes,

John Allen Gay

[America] goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.
