These courses are a great way for students to stay connected, explore creative approaches, and build real-world skills. Scholarship opportunities are available to help offset tuition costs. 💰📚

Students enrolled in Summer Session A or B may be eligible to receive support through the Childcare Grant. 🧒☀️
👥 Eligibility:
🎓 Must be an undergraduate student with a dependent.
🧾 Only one parent may apply per quarter for the same grant.

☀️ SunBucks Is Back This Summer 💸
Starting June 1st, eligible families will receive $120 per child to spend on groceries through the SunBucks food program.
🛒 Funds can be used at grocery stores and local farmers markets
🍎 Children can still receive CalFresh and other food benefits, and participation will not affect immigration status.
📬 Cards will be mailed directly to eligible families—no application required.
Please help spread the word to ensure families in our community get the support they need this summer!

Hiring for a Rapid Rehousing Outreach and Marketing Coordinator!
Job#10022967 (in UCSB Handshake)
The Outreach and Marketing Coordinator for the Rapid Rehousing Programs will help to raise awareness of the programs that UCSB and the local community offer to help support low income students, especially those experiencing housing insecurity. This position will work closely with the Food Security and Basic Needs Communications Team and outreach leads for other basic needs services on the campus. The work will include in-person outreach, developing promotional materials, social media engagement, website content management, and more. The types of resources this program will be promoting include those found on this page. All promotions made highlighting partners or external resources will be made after consultation from and approval by said partners.
Minimum Requirements:
- Energetic and outgoing
- Savvy with social media, willing to use social media for this internship, and be involved in videos/content creation
- Comfortable giving presentations to large groups of people
- Comfortable tabling
- Have strong writing skills
- Have creative marketing ideas
- Thoughtful and empathetic in the way in which they engage others
- Experienced in cross cultural communication
- Open to learning canva and video editing (or skills in doing so)
- Must be available for in person meetings
- Must be available to table and attend evening and weekend outreach events (exact timing will vary by week)

Paid RCSGD Graduate Assistant Opportunity ($20/hr.)
This position contributes to the RCSGD mission of facilitating the intersectional inclusion and representation of the identities, experiences, and concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members at UCSB.
This position works primarily with graduate students but also with undergraduates, faculty, and staff across campus to build support systems for and increase visibility of LGBTQ graduate students and their needs. This role will maintain existing events and programming, both social and educational, for LGBTQ graduate students and create new opportunities for students to engage with the RCSGD. This position will work closely with the Director to create social, professional development, and academic support initiatives for queer and trans graduate students at UCSB. This position will support other full-time, graduate, and undergraduate members of the center staff. Students at any point in their graduate programs are welcome to apply.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, host, and evaluate quarterly LGBTQ graduate student programming.
- Serve as liaison between RCSGD and Graduate Students Association (GSA), Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union (QTGSU), the Graduate Division, and other graduate student organizations.
- Serve as the RCSGD Liaison on the Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union Board.
- Plan and facilitate quarterly Town Halls focused on the needs and concerns of LGBTQ graduate students.
- Solicit graduate student participation in the Mentorship Program and sit on the Program’s Board.
- Work with the Graduate Student Resource Center (GSRC), academic departments, and other graduate-serving offices and organizations to promote visibility of LGBTQ graduate students and teaching assistants and provide educational opportunities for all graduate students and teaching assistants about the LGBTQ community.
- Assist in benchmarking, research models for services, and other data gathering activities for program and service development, including grant funding opportunities.
- Represent the Center at various events and outreach activities geared toward graduate students.
- Communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and professionally in all interactions and materials representing the RCSGD.
- Assist with the planning and execution of RCSGD events broadly and mentorship of undergraduate staff and volunteers, as well as other administrative duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with initiatives for LGBTQ justice, racial justice, and/or social justice.
- Knowledge of LGBTQ topics and concerns;
- Ability to work 10 hours per week (including some evening and weekend hours).
- Enrolled in a graduate program at UCSB.
- Experience hosting social, educational, and/or academic programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with LGBTQ students.
- Experience providing mentorship in an educational or professional setting.
COMPENSATION AND DURATION:
- $20/hour, maximum: 10 hours per week.
- This position begins on September 15, 2025, and will extend through June 2026.
- The successful candidate must be available to participate in the RCSGD’s annual mandatory staff training from September 15-19, 2025.
- This position is recommended for graduate students who already have a Teaching Assistantship or a Graduate Research Assistantship because this position does not cover tuition and fees. Graduate students can work up to 0.75 FTE (10 hours per week in addition to the 20 hours per week assistantship) with department approval.
