The Green Initiative Funding Applications

Interested in getting funding from TGIF for your project but want feedback from the TGIF committee before submitting a full grant proposal?

Fast Track Funding Option for Request under $2000

TGIF is now accepting applications for Fast Track Funding (request under $2000).
 Fall applications due October 25th.

You are in luck, submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to Jewel Persad (jewel....@ucsb.edu) by November 8th! 
Please see the template for the LOI.

Any student, staff, or faculty member of the University community can submit a project proposal to the TGIF Grants Making Committee. Generally, the committee awards $170,000 annually to projects.

Sky Happiness Retreat

School can get tough, especially during midterm season.
Therefore, we want to encourage this event so students can learn how to boost their mental well-being & happiness.
This event will teach participants more about evidence-based breathwork & meditation!

Come spread love & wisdom with SKY!

CalFresh Awareness Week 🥑

Please encourage students to join us this week to learn more about CalFresh!

Here at Basic Needs we Gaucho Back!
UCSB has the highest enrollment rate in the CalFresh program compared to other UCs.

So... what exactly is CalFresh?

The Colors of Resilience Art Exhibition and Rock Out The Vote 🎨🖼️

The FLA team invites you to their upcoming Colors of Resilience Art Exhibition & Rock Out the Vote Community Concert. Their art exhibition will feature anti-hate & pro-immigration artworks from six talented artists throughout the weekend!

Día de Muertos, Celebracíon De La Gente

Dia de los Muertos is a celebration that captures the idea of unity between life and death, it is a synthesis of the indigenous Mesoamerican and Spanish conquistador traditions.

It is celebrated as a means of remembering loved ones and as a way to establish a sense of personal history.

The event will portray the cultural significance of this tradition through food, music, art, performances, spoken word, and an altar to allow community members to take part and celebrate the lives of those who have passed away.

SB County Behavioral Wellness 

Next week SB County Behavioral Wellness will be touring some basic needs spaces on campus and learning about resources available.

Please meet in front of the Food Security and Basic Needs Advising Center at 11:00 AM.

2) SB County Behavioral Wellness MHSA Presentation

This presentation will cover background on what the Department of Behavioral Wellness does, what MHSA is, and how it is used to fund behavioral health services in our County.

The main priority is to hear from staff on what kind of mental health services and resources we should be providing the community, what their needs are, and the needs of the community members you work with.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is accepting applications for the 2024-25 Student Affairs Student Cabinet (SASC), a unique leadership opportunity for students to get involved in student life and advocacy!

Selected members of the SASC will provide feedback on numerous policies and programs, discuss campus improvement, and utilize this platform to address student life, safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Note: The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is offering SASC members a stipend of $300
