Hello,
We hope this email finds you well. We are Apphia and Emily, the Alternative Break Coordinators at UCSB's Community Affairs Board, under Associated Students. CAB is the largest student-run volunteer organization on campus and every Winter and Spring Break, we lead a community service trip to a location outside of Santa Barbara. These trips are called CAB Alternative Breaks and they have been going on for over a decade now. We send out applications, go through an interview process, then select 9 volunteers to join us on a surprise location that students are not told of until they are accepted. This is an amazing opportunity for selected students to go on a free-of-cost community service trip and make an impact!

We usually send out a bulk email campus-wide so that any student interested can apply, which usually lands us about 100-150 applicants. However, since bulk email is no longer an option at this time, we are looking for various other ways to promote the upcoming Spring Alternative Break and reach students. So, we wanted to reach out to Basic Needs in hopes that you all can support us and help promote the trip! Attached below is the flyer for promotion. Our application will be open from 2/2-2/13. If Basic Needs could attach this flyer to its next newsletter[s], that would be of great help. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out and we will be glad to answer them. We appreciate your time and support, thank you so much!

All the best,
Apphia Tran and Emily Puente
