CH ST 191J: Special Topics, Environmental Justice in Central America (Fall 2025; Enroll Code: 58867) with Dr. Giovanni Batz. 

Tues. & Thurs.  at 9:30 am - 10:45am

Description: The course will examine environmental justice issues in Central America. The history of environmental social movements in Central America will be covered, particularly campesino, indigenous and black resistance against extractivist industries, and state responses to these movements. Topics covered include environmentaldegradation, climate change, forced displacement and alternative forms of development.
