Hello,

My name is Kate Heidenga, and I am the Recruitment Chair for the newest chapter of Sigma Eta Pi at UCSB. Sigma Eta Pi is a national organization that brings together students interested in entrepreneurship, innovation, and professional development, with chapters at universities across the country.

We are currently recruiting for our Spring Quarter class, and we would love to involve students from the Global Studies Department. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share the message below with your students or department lists.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Best,
Kate Heidenga

Subject: Join UCSB’s New Entrepreneurship Fraternity - Sigma Eta Pi

Dear UCSB Students,

We are pleased to announce Spring Recruitment for Sigma Eta Pi, UCSB's latest co-ed business and entrepreneurship fraternity. After a successful quarter with our founding cohort, we are seeking interested students to join our Alpha Class. We are open to all years and majors!

A National Network at Elite Institutions and Companies

Sigma Eta Pi is a national business and entrepreneurship organization with active chapters at top universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon, the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, USC, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and a strong presence across the UC system at UCLA (our founding chapter). Our network has cultivated nearly 200 alumni from UCSB alone, with accomplished professionals who now work at premier organizations across the nation including Deloitte, BCG, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Google, AT&T, and more!

As a new member of this revitalized chapter, you will gain immediate access to this powerful national network spanning multiple top universities and industries.

Rush values

Our goal during rush is for every student to leave with a new perspective, skill, or meaningful experience. The process creates excellent opportunities to network, challenge yourself, and explore your interest in business. Throughout the week, we will host application and resume workshops to help you refine how you present your experiences and strengths. You will also hear from alumni panels that share how SEP shaped their professional paths after graduation. We will end with Shark Tank Night, an opportunity to let your inner entrepreneur shine.

How to Apply

Interested students are invited to complete our interest form. Rush events will be held during Week 2 of Spring Quarter. We seek individuals who are committed to investing in their professional development and building meaningful connections. We are open to all years and majors!
