Hello, my name is Joshua Siderman, the Communication and Outreach Manager with the Science Communication Club. Was wondering if you could share this with your relevant class or listserv. Thanks!
Hey sci commers, our final workshop of the year is coming up 🥹
Join us for an exciting event at The REEF, where you’ll learn how to communicate marine science in an aquarium setting! Scott Simon, Founder and Director of The REEF, and Dahlia Barranco, Content Coordinator Intern, will guide us through innovative teaching strategies and effective science communication techniques. Spend time with live sea creatures and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how The REEF operates.
Located at Campus Point Beach, The REEF is UCSB’s Teaching Aquarium and is Marine Science Institute’s Oceans-to-Classrooms (O2C) program. With hands-on touch tanks and aquaria, it brings marine science to life while aligning with Common Core and NGSS standards.
🗓️May 20 ⏰3:30 PM 📍The REEF!
If you miss this workshop, there’s still more sci comm opportunities for you before the year ends—join us at our study jam or our showcase on May 26th!
