Hello Everyone!
Are you interested in joining UCSB’s Ethics Bowl Team? We are a competitive philosophical debate team that participates in regional and national competitions hosted by the Association for Applied and Practical Ethics.
In the past two years, we have placed 2nd at the 2024 Nationals and advanced to the Quarterfinals in 2025, while also placing 2nd in California each year.
Our team prepares arguments on a range of issues from internet privacy, foreign policy, and animal rights (with everything in between). As such, our teams comprise a diverse range of majors and backgrounds.
If this sounds interesting to you, we have an optional info meeting on Monday, September 29th, at 7:00. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, September 30th, at 7:15 p.m., or Wednesday, October 1st, at 5:00 p.m., all located at South Hall 5631.
No prior knowledge of philosophy or ethics is necessary, just a good attitude and an analytical mind is all it takes!
