The Research Focus Group for Global Childhood Media, with the support of the Ghana Studies Research Focus Group, is excited to welcome Clara Asare-Nyarko presenting “Childhood and the Role of Adults in the Identity Formation of Children in Ghanaian Children's Literature."
Her talk will will examine the Ghanaian child reader, literature as an agent of conscious and deliberate socialisation, and the field of Ghanaian Children's Literary Research. She examines the relationship between childhood as a constructed category and the role that adults play in identity formation for the readers of Ghanaian children's literature.
Clara Asare-Nyarko is a final-year doctoral student in the Department of English, University of Cape Coast, Ghana and University of Hildesheim, Germany. She holds a Master of Arts in Translation Studies from Pan African University and ASTI in University of Buea, Cameroon.
