In recognition of World Rainforest Day, we're highlighting programs where students study rainforest ecosystems firsthand.

Celebrating World Rainforest Day this Week!

World Rainforest Day, recognized each year on June 22, celebrates the importance of rainforests and raises awareness about the need to protect them. In recognition of World Rainforest Day, we're highlighting a few of the programs where students explore rainforest ecology firsthand. On our programs in Belize and Ecuador, the rainforest serves as our living classroom, where students gain a deeper understanding of these complex ecosystems and the critical role they play in maintaining a healthy, biodiverse planet.

Rainforests are home to more than half of the world's terrestrial biodiversity, serve as vital carbon sinks, and, despite having remarkably nutrient-poor soils, provide invaluable food, medicine, and other resources for communities around the globe.

If you're interested in studying rainforest ecology and taking your education beyond the classroom, our Winter 2026 Belize and Ecuador programs still have a few spaces available. We invite you to explore these opportunities and learn more about all of our field programs on our website. Enrollment is open through Spring 2027.
