Hi all,

Happy Thursday!  Technology Management is holding a career event next Wednesday with our former (now retired) Career Development Manager.  We offered a similar event last quarter and it was really well-received, so we figured we'd do it again!  Would you please forward this email to your students?

Thank you!
Katie

Accelerate Your Career Discovery and Exploration

Ready to figure out your next career step(s) once you graduate? Have you been applying to roles that appeal to you? How is that going? Many report applying to dozens and scores of companies and hearing back from only a few. Would you like to learn the standard of performance for the fastest way to discover your best next career steps that align with your interests, experience, and skill set?

📅 Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026
🕔 Time & Location: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM in Phelps Hall 1410 (pizza at 5, talk begins at 5:25)
📄 Format: 45-min talk, followed by 15-min Q&A and 30-min workshop

The Department of Technology Management presents a talk, followed by an optional workshop, to help students initiate or accelerate their exploration and discovery of their next career steps upon graduation. David Telleen-Lawton retired from working with UCSB MTM (Master of Technology Management) students to help them find roles that are good fits and get offers, too! During that time he pioneered a process he calls “Meeting with Your FutureSelf” and would like to share the mindset and techniques you can use to fast-track your career discovery.

There is limited space available, so please sign-up ASAP.  Pizza will be served!

You will receive an email message before the talk with a reading assignment to help prepare you to get the most out of the time together.

This event is open to students from all departments, and is not limited to TM Certificate students.
