Dear Meghan,

I hope the end of quarter is going well. I'm writing from the Blum Center on Poverty, Inequality, and Democracy with a quick ask.

We just launched a student housing survey, and the findings will directly inform policy recommendations on how to address the structural roots of student housing insecurity on our campus. The more students we hear from, the stronger our case for change. Students who complete the survey receive a $20 digital gift card.

Would you be willing to forward the message below to your students?

Dear Students,

How is housing affecting your time at UCSB?

Whether it's the cost of rent, your living conditions, a long commute, or the stress of finding a place to live, housing shapes so much of the college experience. The Blum Center on Poverty, Inequality, & Democracy at UC Santa Barbara is conducting a research study to understand how, and we need to hear from undergraduate students like you.

What's Involved:

- A confidential online survey (approximately 20 minutes)

- Complete it on your phone or computer, at your convenience

- Receive a $20 digital gift card upon completion (we anticipate gift cards will be emailed in 3-5 weeks)

Who Can Participate:

- Currently enrolled UCSB undergraduate students, 18 years or older

Your responses are completely confidential and will not be linked to your identity. Participation is voluntary, and you may skip any question or stop at any time.

This study has been reviewed and approved by the UCSB Human Subjects Committee (IRB Protocol #1-26-0048). Questions about the study? Contact Gaye Theresa Johnson at gtjo...@ucsb.edu. Questions about your rights as a research participant? Contact the UCSB Human Subjects Committee at (805) 893-3807 or h...@research.ucsb.edu.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to help shape housing policy at UCSB.

Regards,

Kashia
