Welcome the New Executive Director of Financial Aid!
Jennifer Achan has been named the next Executive Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Jennifer was chosen from a highly qualified pool of candidates for her proven commitment to financial excellence, staff support, and student access, equity, and success. Her expertise and passion for helping students will be extremely valuable to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and to the campus community!
Please join us in welcoming Jennifer to campus and to her new role. Her first day will be Monday, November 4.

CalFresh and Basic Needs @ Parents and Family Weekend
When? Saturday, November 2 🗓️📌
Time? 11 AM-1 PM ⏰
Where? Chem Lawn📍
Families will be able to speak to Calfresh and Basic Needs Peers to learn more about basic needs resources UCSB has to offer for students.
The Food Security and Basic Needs Advising Center will also be open to welcome families November 2nd.

Adult + Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Training
This Adult + Pediatric CPR/AED with First Aid Combo Class will prepare participants for a wide range of emergency situations, from caring for respiratory and cardiac emergencies to controlling life-threatening bleeding and responding to first aid emergencies, all for both adults and children/infants.
This is a blended learning class, meaning participants will be required to complete content online prior to the in-person session.
Students will receive a nationally-recognized Red Cross certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, plus BBP, Epi, and Asthma Training, valid for two years.

Student Affairs Student Cabinet
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is accepting applications for the 2024-25 Student Affairs Student Cabinet (SASC), a unique leadership opportunity for students to get involved in student life and advocacy!
Selected members of the SASC will provide feedback on numerous policies and programs, discuss campus improvement, and utilize this platform to address student life, safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Note: The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is offering SASC members a stipend of $300

Save the date! Hunger and Houselessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and houselessness. Rapid Rehousing will spend the week holding a series of educational, service, and advocacy events.
