Central healthcheck fails. Do I need a SSL certificate?

I have a log full of errors (403: forbidden) related to health checks on the "central" repository.

I follow the recipe, going to the SSL Certificates section under Administration, adding the https://rhc.sonatype.com URL, but get the error "Could not retrieve an SSL certificate from 'rhc.sonatype.com:443'"

Is it the URL out-of-date? Am I in the wrong area?
Any feedback is welcome!

The URL is not out of date, it's the right one.  It sounds like it may be getting blocked by your corporate firewall.

As a quick test, try putting the following in a web browser:


It should return the string "alive".

Got it working!
I asked our networking people for a proxy for Nexus and they gave me one. Turns out it was the wrong proxy.
Correct proxy added, all is running smoothly! Thanks Rich!
