Hi,
I tried without success to install Nexus 3 as a service on a Debian server as explained in :
http://books.sonatype.com/nexus-book/3.0/reference/install.html#service-linux
I think that the documentation is not up to date with nexus bin/nexus file.

Creating a link :
sudo ln -s $NEXUS_HOME/bin/nexus /etc/init.d/nexus
works manually to stop and start Nexus, but not at boot time.

Any help ?

Thanks.

It's not clear to me what steps you took here, have you also run this?

cd /etc/init.d

sudo update-rc.d nexus defaults

Yes, I have done
cd /etc/init.d
sudo update-rc.d nexus defaults
and all the links in etc/rcx.d are fine.
I can start Nexus with : /etc/rc2.d/nexus start
But rebooting the server doesn't start Nexus.

What version of Debian is this?

We have tested this with latest Ubuntu LTS and latest Ubuntu, but not
Debian. It should work though..

The default init system on Debian Jessie is systemd.. Not initd. Perhaps something to look about that?
