We are facing an issue in NX 3.6.0-02. We have big blob storage (around 2.3 TB), RAM is recently improved to 25 G

Nexus never stops cleanly :: It gives this error :: Timeout. Daemon did not shutdown yet.
and we have to kill the process.

According to Multiple discussions on Sonatype issues unclean shutdown of nexus can create DB(orient) corrupt and hence getting this issue ::
Error.PNG
com.orientechnologies.orient.core.exception.ODatabaseException: Error on retrieving record #xx:xxxx ((cluster: entry_3))

er.PNG
Caused by: java.nio.BufferUnderflowException: null

Current problem that we are facing is that Nexus becomes unresponsive after every 3-4 hours and then we have to restart Nexus.(not a good idea for the number of artifacts uploaded or downloaded @ any time of the day)

Would improving the NX version will solve the issue?

Please suggest if there is anything we can d fix this issue. Help will be much appreciated.

BR,
Vijit

You are using a version that is years old and has a problem with a database ( AccessLog ) that is not even present in newer versions. Please upgrade.

Thanks Peter.

I have a few follow up questions.

1) We are planning to upgrade(3.37) in the next quarter, till that time can we do something to keep it running smoothly?
2) Issue seems not only related to accesslog, getting the same type of error in component db logs as well.
3) We have already added nexus.assetdownloads.enabled=false in nexus.properties
4) There are some tasks with schedule value as internal, what exactly internal schedule jobs are, can we disable them.

If we upgrade, would the DB issues(indexing) be resolved or it would be carried forward.

I can't say what would get resolved and what would not. One would have to perform a more complete examination of your instance health that is beyond the scope of help that can be provided here.

If you are really stuck and this is mission critical then we offer paid support options.
