Can anyone point to where/how one increases the timeout for the web user interface in Nexus?  I believe the current value is something like 10 minutes or so which is annoying our end users.

Go to "capabilities/ui settings/settings", you can adjust the UI timeout there.

Hi Rich,

and specially "

Read Timeouts

Most likely cause is a firewall that has virus scanning turned on.  Users can work around by increasing the HTTP read timeouts in Nexus (either globally or per proxy repository)."

so my question is that where is settings for changing the Http read time out from Nexus Side, Is the UI timeout setting is also the setting for HTTP read when an artifact is getting downloaded in Jenkins Build?

No.

There is a global default HTTP outbound request settings including Socket/read timeout:

Further each specific proxy repository has similar HTTP settings on its specific settings page.

We advise sticking with our defaults unless you have actual proof different settings are needed. Increasing timeouts and retries without really understanding the impact can easily lead to slower builds and worse performance with no measurable improvement in numbers of successful outbound requests. Usually changes are just trying to work around a more systemic problem on your network.

Hi Peter ,
Thanks for replying, the reason for asking this was because we recently upgraded from Nexus 2.0 to Nexus 3.15-02 and since then we are observing build failures intermittently, and every time the build is failing with read time out error and while observing the logs we can see that Nexus log contains this
we have not changed the network or firewall recently and all this setup was working fine with the old server and as this is not happening every time it's not easy to debug the issues also
one more thing is that it is happening with files which have large size .

any inputs will be appreciated.

That exception means that Nexus was trying to write a reply to the requesting client, but it could not because the client had already closed the connection.
