Within my company, we would like to promote gems that we utilize for product deliveries into hosted repositories (rather than relying on the internet source repo to maintain them or the Nexus proxy cache).  Is there a simple method recommended for doing this?  Basically if I retrieve a gem (and its dependencies) via the proxy, how can I push it to the hosted repo?

I'm not a ruby of gem expert.

Daniel,

If you proxy rubygems.org and group it with a hosted repo and then expose the group to your users, you dont have to manually manage the gems and push them into a hosted repo.

This is the default idea and setup, which is documented in

There is also a demo video that shows that setup in the Tips from the Trenches video series I recorded.

With this setup there is no need to push externally available gems.

However if you do not want to proxy or just deploy gems you can upload them just like any other gem.
