Yesterday, Sep. 8, I photographed an adult Cooper’s hawk along the Brickyard Trail in Brighton.  The photos can be seen at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/312713115.  About a year ago, I photographed a juvenile in the same area, and I’m thinking this might be the same bird that is now an adult.

I see that the eye color on this adult bird is quite red, which leads me to believe that it is an older adult.  In my experience young adults still have yellow eyes, which gradually get redder over the years.  So I think this is probably a different bird from the juvenile that you previously photoed.

Hi Jay,
Could you tell me what is the name of the Hawk that landed in our yard ( in the attached video)?  Please mute the volume. The child crying in the background is annoying. My wife sent me the video to at work.

Thanks,
Lance
