Meeting Summary

Alex and Larry reviewed open VRS work with the group, ahead of the upcoming release:

• RLE (Reference Length Expression) normalisation change (PR 700): Switching from “greatest” to “minimal” repeat subunit length for more intuitive representations. Please review and provide feedback by end of day July 8.
• Clarifying canonical representation for intronic variants using minimal distance to anchor. Examples and diagrams were discussed.
• GKS Core updates (mappable concepts & concept sets becoming Entities): PR open for community review.
• Quick Start Guidance (PR 693): Documentation alignment and improvements across products.

A reminder that registration is open for the GA4GH Connect and Plenary meeting in Singapore (28 September - 2 October 2026), and the deadline for proposing Connect Topics is mid-July.
