Excellent news! - Lord Egan Swinesbane has graciously agreed to be our Baronial Chief Archer. This starts the two-week commentary period, which will come to an end on 4/27/2024. ✠ A Declaration of Intent ✠

Let all who read these words know that Egan Swinesbane, sworn servant of the Barony of Aquaterra, humbly seeks the honor of serving as Archery Officer. With steadfast heart and steady hand, he offers his skill, his labor, and his devotion to the strengthening of the barony’s ranges and the nurturing of its archers.

 

In this calling, he strives also to honor the spirit, purpose, and noble aims of House Hrafensheim, whose fellowship has shaped his path and whose example he seeks to uphold in all deeds of service.

 

 

 

✠ Of Joy, Fellowship, and Belonging ✠

Know further that the Society has granted unto Egan a rare treasure: 

a family found, not inherited; a hearth of welcome in troubled times.

 

Within the lands of Aquaterra and the halls of Hrafensheim, he has discovered a place where the burdens of the mundane world fall away, and where one may stand unmasked and unjudged. Here he has known:

 

- Belonging without condition 

- Laughter shared freely 

- Labor made merry by companionship 

- A refuge where the spirit may breathe and be renewed

 

It is this joy, this sense of home, that moves him to take up the mantle of service. In seeking the office of Archery Officer, he desires to give back to the barony that gave him belonging, and to help others find the same warmth and welcome he himself received.

The Bow

- Intermediate archer, sworn to House Hrafensheim since the great Banner War of AS 60 (2025) 

- Competitor in contests of renown: 

  - Banner War Archery Tournament 

  - Boar’s Hunt Archery Tournament 

  - Torn’s Tournament 

- Keeper of range safety, equipment care, and the customs of honorable competition 

 

The Axe and Knife

- Practiced in the arts of thrown weapons 

- Knowledgeable in range etiquette and proper conduct 

 

 

✠ Service to Barony, Kingdom, and Distant Shores ✠

 

House Archer of Hrafensheim

AS 60–Present 

- Bears the honor of the household in tournaments and practices 

- Welcomes newcomers and fosters camaraderie 

- Upholds the household’s spirit of hospitality and martial discipline 

 

Labors at Great Gatherings

Banner War, AS 60 

- Assisted in the raising and striking of encampments and lists 

- Supported the archery field and lent strength where needed 

 

Boar’s Hunt, AS 60 

- Contributed to the setting of the grounds and the final breaking of camp 

- Competed with honor and aided fellow archers 

 

Mercenary Deeds in Foreign Realms

Before his days in Aquaterra, Egan journeyed south to the warm lands of Trimaris, where he served as a mercenary archer in the famed Tourney of the Three Ships within the Shire of Southkeep. 

- Competed in the archery tournaments of AS 51 (2016), AS 53 (2018), and AS 54 (2019) 

- Stood among foreign bowmen, offering his skill to those in need of a true and steady aim
