Master’s programmes at the University of Roehampton, London

We have two exciting master’s programmes open for applications at the University of Roehampton, London.

  • MRes in Primate Biology, Behaviour and Conservation
  • Masters by Research (MbyRes)  in Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour

Both courses offer students the opportunity to develop, design and conduct a substantial independent research project with the support of a dedicated supervisor who is the world-leading expert in their field. These include academic staff in the Centre for Research in Evolutionary, Social and Interdisciplinary Anthropology and Centre for Research in Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour. Further details about each course can be found here: MRes PrimateMbyRes in EEB.

Examples of research project opportunities (and the supervisor) include:

  • The relationship between cortisol and social integration in people ‘socially distancing’ (Colette Berbesque)
  • Division of labour and sexual differences in bone robusticity in hunter-gatherers and farmers (Lia Betti)
  • Social buffering in despotic versus egalitarian systems (Julia Lehmann)
  • Individual foraging specialisation in social groups (Harry Marshall)
  • Contagion of affiliative social behaviour in primates (Stuart Semple)
A fuller list of potential project topics can be found here. Please get in touch with Harry Marshall (harry.m...@roehampton.ac.uk) for more details. Please disseminate this to anyone relevant.
