The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with rhesus macaques and/or capuchin monkeys, which is preferred. Experience working with animals in psychological and behavioral studies (outside of a medical setting and animal shelters) is essential.
The essential duties and responsibilities are the following:
Scheduling investigator access to research animals, rhesus macaques, and capuchins and communicating with off-site investigators to coordinate data collection (e.g., installing research software and emailing data).
Coordinating the research schedule for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate interns, and students.
Assisting on-site investigators with research activities, such as recording data and coding video of research sessions.
Designing, implementing, and maintaining research devices, including computerized and mechanical apparatus.
Writing software for computerized research projects, using knowledge of computer programming for experimental psychological research (e.g., Python, R stats, Visual Basic 6.0).
