Description:

This is an ideal retirement or semi-retirement position for an individual or a couple. The work is changing and varied, and may be tailored to the candidate’s preferences.

Typical tasks include:

- Assist with various conservation and animal welfare projects (e.g.: research, proofread, edit and file publication and video material, review footage from trap cameras, update website, etc.)

- Care and provide enrichment for two adult chimpanzees

- Occasionally manage the property and the staff

Qualifications/Experience:

Experience with primates (especially chimpanzees) is highly desirable.

Good computer skills and at least basic familiarity with printers, recorders and copiers, internet, video conferencing, etc...

Spoken and written English.

Minimum age: 35 (required for the provided visa)

Salary/funding:

To be discussed, based on skill set and experience.

Support provided:

A nicely furnished 2-bedroom house with a beautiful deck overlooking a clearing and a salt lick bordering Mount Kenya National Park. All utilities (water, electricity, internet, satellite TV) included.

Car: A recent Suzuki Jimny 4x4.

Yearly return airfare to home country.

Term of Appointment:

3 years minimum, starting in July 2021 (or shortly thereafter)
