Hello HTCondor Support Team,
I am trying to install HTCondor on a company-managed Windows workstation, but the Windows MSI installer fails(error in attached figures).
I first tried the Windows feature release installer, version `25.10.1`, and then tried the Windows LTS installer as well. Both failed with the same error, even when running the installer with administrator rights.
## Environment
| Workstation OS | Windows 11 Enterprise, 64-bit |
## Question
Could you advise whether this error is a known issue on managed Windows workstations?
Since both the feature release and LTS installer fail the same way, I am wondering if this may be related to endpoint security, group policy, AppLocker/WDAC, service creation, registry permissions, or MSI custom-action restrictions.
Are there any required security-policy exceptions or recommended MSI command-line options for installing HTCondor on company-managed Windows machines?
Thank you,
Yanfei
Hello Yanfei,
The most likely cause is that the C++ runtime libraries are not available.
Please install them before installing HTCondor.
...Tim
